Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fabrication: Cutting, bending, shaping, and welding metal sheets to create components such as ducts, roofing, siding, and custom metal products.
  • Installation: Installing fabricated metal products, such as HVAC ducts, flashing, or roofing systems, ensuring they are securely placed and meet specifications.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpreting and working from blueprints, drawings, or sketches to determine the dimensions, shapes, and layouts for metal components.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining existing metal products, including HVAC systems, roofs, or metal facades, to ensure their functionality and longevity.
  • Measuring and Cutting: Using hand tools and power tools to accurately measure and cut sheet metal to the required size and shape.
  • Welding and Soldering: Using welding and soldering techniques to join metal parts together and ensure that seams are secure.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that all fabricated metal products meet quality standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety standards and guidelines when working with tools, equipment, and materials to avoid accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Job Requirements:

  1. Skills and Abilities:

    • Metalworking Skills: Proficiency in cutting, shaping, bending, and welding metal sheets using various tools such as shears, brakes, hammers, and welding machines.
    • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to fabricate and install metal components accurately.
    • Attention to Detail: Precision is essential when working with sheet metal, as minor mistakes can affect the integrity and functionality of the final product.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to material defects, installation issues, or design discrepancies.
